why am I showing you this?

Right To Be (formerly named Hollaback!) holds training sessions on harassment prevention and intervention, as well as on healing and reclaiming the inner power that often gets lost in traumatic experiences. A significant component of Right To Be's work is creating a space for people to share their stories for affirmation and support through a web platform called Heartmob, which is integrated into their website. Right To Be approached Wunderdogs in 2021 for a major redesign of their 20+ year-old brand. Together with a team of brand experts at Wunderdogs, we developed the concept of Right To Be_, a typographical representation of the non-profit's central idea: building a world free of harassment, where everyone has the right to express themselves as they wish. The space in the logo serves as a basis for visuals across various brand communications, including the website and social media. The Right To Be visual identity case gained attention from the international design community in 2022, earning a C2A Award for Brand Identity.

my role on the project

My role in the project included art direction and lead design for all of Right To Be's communications. One of the significant deliverables was a large selection of carefully curated imagery to be used across the brand's media, for which I was responsible. The principles for imagery and video selection are well-communicated in the awards video submission at the bottom of this page. Working on the stock materials curation improved my understanding of Right To Be's stakeholders, and my overall participation in this project deeply enhanced my sense of ethics and inclusivity when designing for an activist and socially impactful organization.
